About Chabimura
Chabimura, also known as Devtamura, is one of Tripura’s most spectacular heritage and eco-tourism destinations. Nestled amidst the lush forested hills along the Gomati River, the site is renowned for its magnificent rock-cut carvings of Hindu deities sculpted on nearly vertical cliffs dating back to the 15th–16th century AD. The most impressive sculpture is the gigantic image of Mahishasuramardini (Goddess Durga), standing over 10 metres high, making it one of the largest rock reliefs of its kind in India. Visitors reach the site by a scenic boat ride through the tranquil waters of the Gomati River, surrounded by dense forests and dramatic rocky landscapes.
